Loan Materials
The Education Office of the Oriental Institute offers a wide variety of classroom loan materials on ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia, and Nubia. For over a decade, our mini-museums, poster portfolios, slide sets, and videos on these three ancient cultures have been a valuable resource to educators around the country.
Mini-Museums
Contain a teacher's guide, overhead transparencies, and approcimately a dozen artifact reproductions for hands-on classroom experiences.
$25 per box for a two-week rental. Requires the borrower to pick-up and drop-off. Please book at least three weeks in advance, as quantities are limited.
Poster Portfolios
Contain 4 to 6 full-color, 20" x 30" laminated posters of ancient art and artifacts for classroom display.
$12 per set for a two-week rental. Requires the borrower to pick-up and drop-off. Please book at least three weeks in advance, as quantities are limited.
Slide Sets
Contain 50 to 75 slides and a script explaining various ancient Near Eastern topics.
$12 per set for a one-week rental. Can be mailed. Postage plus insurance is additional, please call for rates.
Video Sets
Consist of two units, Metalsmithing in Ancient Egypt and Cloth and Clothing in Ancient Mesopotamia, which demonstrate techniques that remain virtually unchanged from ancient times.
